Our Mission
Bulk Image Compressor exists to make image optimization fast, free, and genuinely private for everyone who publishes on the web. Bloggers, small business owners, online sellers, and creators shouldn't need expensive desktop software or a subscription just to make their images load faster. We wanted a tool that opens instantly, compresses an entire folder of photos in seconds, and never asks you to sign up or hand over your files. So we built one.
The web runs on images, and unoptimized images are the single biggest thing slowing most sites down. Our goal is to remove that friction completely — to give you a batch image compressor that is powerful enough for real work but simple enough that anyone can use it on the first try.
Why Client-Side Processing Matters
Most online compressors work by uploading your images to a remote server, processing them there, and sending the results back. It works, but it comes with real costs: your files leave your control, you wait in a queue, large batches are slow, and you have to trust that the service deletes everything afterward. For personal photos, client mockups, or anything confidential, that's a lot to ask.
We took a different path. Bulk Image Compressor does all of its work inside your own browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. When you drop images onto the page, they are read directly from your device, compressed locally, and handed straight back to you. Nothing is uploaded. There is no server that ever sees your files, no queue to wait in, and no copy sitting in a data center somewhere. You could even switch off your internet connection after the page loads and keep compressing.
This approach isn't just more private — it's faster and more scalable too. Because the work happens on your machine, there's no upload time, no download time, and no artificial limit on how many images you can process. It's the convenience of a website with the privacy of an offline application.
Private by Design
Your images never leave your device. There's no upload, no storage, and no tracking of the files you compress.
Fast & Unlimited
No upload wait, no daily caps. Compress a handful of images or hundreds — it's free every single time.
Always Available
No account to manage and nothing to install. Bookmark the page and it's ready whenever you need it.
What's Coming Next
We're just getting started. The roadmap includes support for more formats such as AVIF, an optional side-by-side quality preview so you can judge compression before you download, bulk renaming and folder-structure preservation, and a small set of companion tools — an image resizer, a format converter, and a favicon generator — all built with the same privacy-first, client-side approach.
We'd love your input on what to build next. If there's a feature that would make your workflow easier, tell us about it on the Contact page. And if you just want to try the tool, head back to the home page and drop in a few images.
